Improving Young Farmer Mental Resilience in Times of Drought Project

FarmLink are proud to announce that we have been awarded funding to facilitate the ‘Improving Young Farmer Mental Resilience in Times of Drought’ project.

The past two years have been some of the most difficult.  Australia has faced drought, bushfires, flooding and then the pandemic.

FarmLink will host an event for Young Farmers to build skills and networks to manage the impacts of stress during drought, intergenerational relationships and communicating effectively within family farm businesses.

The event will aim to increase awareness of practical on-farm strategies that improve capability, encourage participation in networking opportunities for farmers, and focus on interpersonal skills to manage the stresses associated with drought and climate change.

The project is part of the Federal Government’s Future Drought Fund: Networks to Build Drought Resilience Program and is managed by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR). The Program is supporting activities that strengthen the capacity and capability of community networks and organisations to build drought preparedness.
