Harvester set-up workshops for optimising harvest losses, efficiency and weed seed control; and capacity building for future delivery

Project Partners: GRDC, FarmLink, Primary Sales Australia Pty Ltd
Project Code: PRS2005-001SAX
Project Duration: 2020-2025
Project Location: GRDC Northern Region

Background

The purpose of this investment is to plan, manage and deliver a series of regional harvester set-up workshops and to develop and execute a training program to build capacity for the future delivery of harvester set-up extension activities in the Australian grains industry.
Workshops are designed to enable Australian grain growers, contract harvesters and machinery dealers to maximise harvest efficiency by minimising harvest losses, reducing grain damage, managing weed seeds and returning more profit per hectare through the economic optimisation of harvester set-up including harvest weed seed control. The workshops will also extend crucial, seasonal information related to harvest as the need arises.
FarmLink will also develop and deliver a train-the-trainer program to build extension capacity in the Australian grains industry for the future delivery of harvester set-up workshops or similar and develop training materials that may be utilised for training purposes should the need arise again in future.
